give them a jar to open...they love that

lovely dinner last night. we actually joined hands and kind of said our own little thanks, going all around the table one at a time. kitties, the sky, rocks, the food, this house, the wine and the closeness of friends were all accounted for.

little italian night:

caprise salad. tomatoes roasted with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper, and then basil and mozzarella. drizzled with olive oil.

chelsea's first shrimp! oven roasted. just garlic, oregano, chili powder, olive oil and salt and pepper.

sangria with nectarines, oranges and apples. the fruit sucked in the alcohol. (:

bruschetta. same tomato stuff. just diced with more basil and mixed with some balsamic and more olive oil. i love how the same ingredients are used in italian. i think i did something else to this, but i honestly don't remember. the bread was just toasted in the oven with olive oil and a lil salt

the shrimp and the pesto. there was also a bread basket of hot, soft bread, and a gravy boat filled with marinara. i love dipping...

chelsea's bag. she brought espresso cups and an espresso maker so we could do after-dinner coffee. sooo nice.

gorgeous cake savannah brought! some kind of really rich beautiful chocolate with a chocolate custard. this was the only thing i didn't eat because i was just soo full and a little drunkies. we have leftovers though, and i think i'll end up gravitating toward it at some point.

so when marcio says he might stop somewhere to get something for us to drink, he really means a 30 lb jug of wine. this wine was delish and way more drinkable than the super strong yellowtail we also had.

espresso! in chelsea's cute widdo cups. the espresso was so delicious.

sweet little sunday.
