gooey toffee bar thingies

Embarrassingly enough, this is a slightly tweaked Paula Dean recipe...it just really sounded that good. By slightly I just mean that I always add more vanilla, and I always add a tiny pinch of salt. Far from genius, but tends to work.



Perfect for perverted game night.
Bottom layer: yellow cake mix, 1 egg, 1 stick butter. very crumbly. Pressed into buttered cake pan.
Top layer: 8 oz soft cream cheese, 1 stick melted butter, 2 eggs, 1 16 oz box powdered sugar, 1.5 tsp vanilla, tiny pinch of salt, and chocolate toffee pieces folded in.
Made the place smell like a doughnut shop where baby kitties and baby duckies kiss your toes and sing Fleet Foxes.
