potatoes and cheese?

turnips and cheese!

the picture looks just awful, but bare with me on this one. it really was fully delicious. i used about 6 small turnips, cubed into maybe 1 inch pieces, sprinkled the veggies with: onion powder, garlic powder, ground mustard, paprika, black pepper...i think that's it. and then layered them in the baking dish with low fat cheddar, non fat american, and for an added touch of delicious artificiality: cheese flavored sprinkles...i think those things are supposed to go on doritos or popcorn or something...but they really can be used as a cheese booster. i also poured in a little bit of the sprayable i can't believe it's not butter which probably wasn't necessary because the turnips give off soo much liquid.
bake at 350 for about an hour until all is bubbly and tender.
dude
dude
duuuuuude.

i know this sounds ridiculous. but the end result tastes like a fibrous kraft macaroni and cheese with a kick. delightful way to get a hidden veggie. especially a veggie that is often overlooked.
