sweet aya

i just baked for several hours. only two recipes, but they both required alot of steps. especially the cheesecake. darker my love and black rebel motorcycle club are somehow really fitting baking accompaniments....as are sore feet and letting the sweat dry out from working out.

tiny strawberry cupcakes for alison with strawberry buttercream and macerated strawberry slivers:

pina colada cheesecake. beast in the oven.

long, grueling-ass process, but really rewarding i suppose.

started with a lovely graham cracker crust...i didn't feel like cleaning the food processor, so i double-bagged graham crackers and actually jumped up and down on them til they were crushed.
mix with melted butter, toasted pecans and a touch of sugar. i thinnnk it was 1 3/4 cups graham cracker, 1/2 cup melted butter, 1/2 cup toasted chopped pecans and a tablespoon of sugar.

the cheese part of this cake was 3 8 oz packages 1/3 less fat cream cheese, 1 cup sour cream, five eggs, 1/3 of a cup of light rum, 4 tsps coconut extract, 1 cup coconut cream, some unrecollectable amount of sugar and umm...very possibly something else. oh! 8 oz pineapple. pour into crust. bake at 325 for like a year...or an hour 20 minutes. glaze was a pain in the ass...you get the idea. i just realized that i feel more pessimistic after the baking process than i normally do...eep!
toasted some coconut. i'd be a fool not to.
