Sunday evening dinner

After getting home from doing a scene for Colby Meade's music video, Noah and I were frozen and famished. After fumbling through a couple of fridges, I cooked din din.

Immersion blenders are super tight.

Mashed "potatoes" (cauliflower). Cauliflower steamed softly and not stinkily with just salt and pepper and a few garlic cloves. Pulverized with some evaporated milk, nutritional yeast, vegan butter and a wee touch of lemon to cut through the heavy tastes.
So much fun. I'm now brainstorming about things to pulverize with this small appliance.

Mushrooms, a small yellow onion and garlic went into the skillet for quite some time to make food babies with one another and get ready for the tofu cubes to be added. Before that though came a splash of white wine and a little bit of au jus sauce we found. Sauce was the satisfying savory and wine was the tangy floral bit. Tofu got to hang out for a bit. Sucked in some mushroomy garlicky wine juices.

Dinner for two tired kids. Nothing new, inventive or entirely unusual for us, but for our empty tummies and cold insides, this did just fine.
